For the love of lobby

The New York Times have an interesting article today about the significance of the lobby in luxury condominiums:
In an increasingly tough market that has left some high-rises sitting half-empty, the lobby has become a site of innovation for developers who find it more urgent than ever to make their buildings stand out from the crowd.

4185 17th Street. 3 bedrooms and deck in SF's gay neighborhood

This lovely home on 17th street and Douglass Street is currently on the market for $685K. A pretty good deal, it seems, for a 3BR, 1-and-a-half bath beauty right in the heart of the Castro District. Like most buildings in its vicinity, it was built in the late 19th century and has since been converted to a condo. It even has a private deck!

The Castro is the gay mecca of San Francisco—make that the gay mecca of the world. You won't be able to hang if you're a homophobe, but if you want vibrant city streets without the fear of crime or grime, this could be the place for you.
